Bring some Sunshine into your Life
with dancing West Coast Swing!
Welcome to our Summer Term 2015 of West Coast Swing Dancing!
River Park Leisure Centre
West Coast Swing is a smooth and cool partner dance that can be danced to almost any kind of music! What is so special about West Coast Swing is, that it is incredibly natural and it allows both partners to improvise and express their own way of “feeling” the music within the confines of the dance.
We started to introduce this wonderful and very smooth partner dance originating from the West Coast of the United States to Winchester in January 2010:
“West Coast Swing (WCS) is a partner dance derived from Lindy Hop. It is characterised by a distinctive elastic look that results from its basic extension-compression technique of partner connection, and is danced primarily in a slotted area on the dance floor. The dance allows for both partners to improvise steps while dancing together.” – Wikipedia
So come and join us for our weekly West Coast Swing dance classes on Thursdays, at the River Park Leisure Centre in Winchester! Please see our West Coast Swing Dance Classes page for dates and times of our West Coast Swing dance lessons.
We are looking forward to seeing you on the dance floor!
